DON'T KEEP BAD COMPANY

     Once there was a farmer in the Punjab. He had a house near his farm. He lived in it with his family. He had also a parrot in his house. The farmer's children played with the bird. One day the parrot flew away from the house. The farmer and his children did not know where it had gone.

     Some days later a large number of crows picked the grain and caused great damage to the farm. The farmer's parrot also joined the crows and did more harm than the crows. The farmer saw the crows doing harm to his farm. He threw his stick at the crows to drive them away.  All the crows flew away. But the poor parrot could not fly. The stick had struck the parrot and it was wounded.

     The farmer ran up to get his stick. To his great surprise, he saw his parrot lying with a wound.  Then he gently carried the bird to his home and looked after it carefully.  The farmer's children went to see their parrot lying in bed.  When it saw them, the parrot slowly and sorrowfully said "Bad Company," "Bad Company". The children left the place to give it rest.

     The parrot, after some time, got better, and again began to play with the farmer's children.  But as they played the parrot would say now and then "Bad Company", "Bad Company",
