     Live ని మనం ..'లివ్' అని చదువుదామా?

గమనించారుగదా.......

             కొన్ని పదాలకు రెండేసి ఉచ్చారణలు ఉండి రెండేసి అర్ధాలు వస్తాయి. కొన్ని పదాల spelling లో కొద్ది మార్పు ఉండి ఉచ్చారణలో బహు కొద్ది మార్పు ఉంటుంది. ఇలాంటి పదాలను Homonyms అంటారు.

మరో ఉదాహరణ చూద్దాం.

Convict ని మనము verb గా వాక్య నిర్మాణము చేబడితే దానిని మనం కన్విక్ట్ గా ఉచ్చరించాలి..నేరానికి శిక్ష విధించు అనే అర్ధంలో..He was convicted of fraud.

అదే Convict ని మనము Noun గా వాక్య నిర్మాణము చేబడితే దానిని మనము కాన్విక్ట్ గా ఉచ్చరించాలి... నేరానికి శిక్ష అనుభవించు వ్యక్తి అనే అర్ధంలో ...A person who has been found guilty of a crime and sent to prison.
